GUJARAT SATCOM NETWORK

SATCOM NETWORK is a satellite communication network service consisting of a subsidary network of various educational institutions, government departments, voluntary agencies etc .to facilitate easier and faster distant interaction in the developmental and educational activities of the state.

"Gujarat SATCOM Network" was set up with a view to meet the emerging need of distant interactive education, development, training and extension.It aims at facing the challenges of communicating and training large masses as well as sustaining the continued expansion of knowledge in various areas like promotion of agriculture, empowerment of local bodies, widening the educational access etc.

The SATCOM facility comprises of an uplink earth station, control room, TV studio, and a network of receiving classrooms.
