At the behest of Census Department, computerization and generation of taluka-wise village maps for Census- 2001 was taken up and has been completed. Each district, taluka and village has been labeled with new census code. A system has been developed to prepare taluka wise and village wise maps and installed at the Directorate of Census. The system has been designed, developed and evaluated to prepare all types of cartographic maps. The training to work on this software is also being imparted.


On the basis of the boundary of SOI the Coastal Boundaries of 13 Districts have been corrected. Also based on SOI boundary a whole State Map has been prepared.
